MathSci Problems
About
Hi there, I’m Aaron! I’m from Canada and started this site as a personal project because I’ve always enjoyed math and science, and I wanted a space to explain things in a way that feels approachable and fun.
I studied chemistry in university and have spent a lot of time tutoring students in science and math. When I teach, I like to dig into the “why” behind concepts. I like to use lots of applied examples and analogies and connect concepts to the bigger picture.
I owe a lot to the people who taught me over the years: my school teachers, university professors, friends and family, my wife, and educators I watched online including Richard Feynman, Sal Khan, and “The Math Sorcerer” on YouTube. I’m grateful for their influence and hope this site reflects a bit of what they passed on to me.
I put a lot of care into making this site a useful place to learn, and sometimes I use AI tools, like ChatGPT to stretch what I can do. These tools help me come up with clearer or more creative explanations or analogies, create quiz questions that come at a topic from directions I hadn’t considered, turn regular notes into playful educational stories, or even build mini learning games, since I don’t have much computer programming experience. However, I always take the time to review everything to make sure it reflects my voice and is accurate. At the end of the day, my focus is on the learning experience, and I use every tool I can, carefully, to help make it as good as possible.
I also love hearing from people who visit the site! If you notice an error, have a suggestion for new content, found a post that helped you understand something better, or just want to share something random, feel free to leave a comment!
